Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Hello, my name is Cherelle. I live in London, U.K., and I have been planning weddings for almost 6 years. My company, Perfectly Planned 4 You specialises in creating stylish weddings for couples who want something bespoke, beautiful, and who think differently! My favorite weddings to plan are modern, urban and industrial—I especially love planning weddings in my hometown, Hackney, East London.
Why did you decide to become a wedding planner?
Emma Hare Photography
I decided to pursue a career in event planning because I have always had a passion for it. Being extremely organised comes natural to me—even as a child, I planned my own birthday parties. Growing up, my friends and family would ask me to plan their events and weddings. I really enjoyed all the planning elements, including the budgeting, logistics and, of course, the event decor/design and setup on the day.
When did you get your start in destination wedding planning? Would you say this is your business’ specialty?
I became a destination wedding planner back in 2016. Travelling excites and inspires me, and it’s one of my favorite things to do. The best part about being a destination wedding planner is travelling to amazing locations to find new and exciting places to recommend to my couples. Planning a destination wedding does take a significant amount of time—and I can provide an invaluable support to couples during the planning process!

What’s your favorite part of the wedding planning process?
I love finding new and unique venues to introduce to my clients. My favorite part of every wedding is showing my couples their venue after I have transformed the blank canvas and made it personal to them.
Do you have any advice for people struggling to find event planner jobs?
Network! Networking is a brilliant way to make new connections and market yourself for career opportunities.
What’s something you wish someone had told you before earning your wedding planning certification?
Emma Hare Photography
My first mistake when starting my business in 2012 was not being specific enough when defining my ideal client. My biggest advice to any wedding planner starting a business is to discover your ‘ideal client’ before you start your business. Not all weddings are for you. To find your ideal client, begin with a study of yourself. Know who you are and what the types of weddings that interest you. Once you know who your ideal client is, all of your marketing becomes easier.
How has QC prepared you for the wedding planning business?
QC’s Event & Wedding Planning Course provided me with useful knowledge and skills to start my own planning company. It gave me the confidence to work with clients from the first meeting right up to the day of their wedding/event. Not only did the course teach me about event and wedding planning but it also walked me through the process of starting my own wedding planning business. I learned how to write a business plan and received valuable information on how to price my planning services.
Can you share any exciting projects coming up?
