Graduate Feature: Tywana R. Fredenburg
We caught up with recent QC Event School Graduate, Tywana R. Fredenburg of Roszel’s Wedding and Event Planning, to see what it was like being a QC student and what her plans are for the future!
With a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University, I never expected to possess my own business named “Roszel’s Wedding and Event Planning” years later. After coordinating my own wedding in 2002 of 600 people and 300 people in attendance of my wedding reception I received lots of compliments. It wasn’t until I planned and coordinated a few other weddings and events my friends and family members encouraged me to start my own business. I thought to myself “hey, I can do this!” So, I sought out a web designer in Houston, Texas, J Carrington+Associates, to build my professional website. Then later I decided to enroll into QC School which was one of the greatest decisions I could have made to help advance my career.
Did you always see yourself as an event planner?
No, I have not always seen myself as an event planner. In college I was very interested in becoming a teacher. However, after spending some time at Eastern Michigan University I decided to switch my major to Social Work. Although I didn’t always see myself as an event planner I always saw myself as an individual who loves and enjoys working with and helping others.
What did you enjoy most about your course with QC?
What I enjoyed most about QC is the creative course work that was required from the students. QC is a very good school that teaches and prepares their students to work with all kinds of budgets and styles of individuals. It teaches students to work hard to create the special day that our clients have envisioned. QC possess the ability to pull out the creativity in planners that work with clients who have no idea what they may want for their event. With these skills learned and matured helps us as Event Planners to create a very special day for our clients. It is very important to make sure our clients are pleased with our services.
What is the most valuable thing you learned from QC?
The most valuable thing I learned from QC is how to provide professional services to all clients and how to maintain good business relationships with vendors.
What has been the most gratifying aspect of your career so far?
The most gratifying aspect of my career so far has been watching the smiles on my clients’ faces knowing that their needs have been met and are truly satisfied by Roszel’s Wedding and Event Planning Services. It brings so much joy to know that our clients truly are stress-free during the entire planning process as well as the day of event.
